"Beverley Hall-Alleyne led a storied career as the former executive director of the Institute of Jamaica (IOJ) from 1985 to 1993, significantly contributing to the preservation and promotion of African-Jamaican heritage. In 1974, she established the African Caribbean Institute of Jamaica, which later became a part of the Jamaica Memory Bank, an IOJ division. Her work during this period was crucial in documenting African influences in Jamaican culture, particularly significant as the nation navigated the early years of its independence."
